Skateboard Adventures: Fun Tricks and Big Crash
In this video I skate the fountain skatepark in Colorado, using primarily the mini ramp and the pump track. I took the family for a fun family park day and got to enjoy some of this good weather. There were a few crashes and few missed tricks, but I also got a bunch of decent tricks in this video as well.

DIY Laser Engraved Computer Desk: xtool S1 Step-by-Step Guide
Просмотров 55014 дней назад
Over the past two to three weeks, I have been working a bigger project to create a new computer desk for my office. I used the xtool s1 laser engraver to engrave and image on a board that I was using for the new desk. during the process I had to come up with a way of feeding the board through the laser engraver without messing up the image. After multiple days and hours, I was able to complete ...
xtool Conveyor Review - Do not buy
Просмотров 34228 дней назад
I bought the xtool S1 conveyor and have consistently had minor problems with its functionality. specifically with its smoke production due to the doors being open. However, today I decided to engrave a normal 2-inch board and discovered that the conveyor on allows boards of roughly half an inch max through. I highly recommend skipping this product and just getting the machine unless you only wo...

I like how you provide valuable info, take the time to film and edit it and then get comments about music volume preferences from people who don't post/edit/upload videos unless it was a short one of their cat filmed on a potato 12 years ago.
@@SpencerWayne hahahaha, I enjoy that lol. Its no biggy though, I did butcher the volume a little bit
Did you lower the focus? If not, try lowering 4mm and try again.
@@videoscrapheap i used the auto focus for this one.
@@everygooddaydesigns Lowering the focus for thick materials will help. It’s in the EasySet panel for cuts. There’s even a suggestion out there to add the feature to lower the focus after n passes on a multipass cut. For example you could lower the focus after 2 passes on a 4 pass cut. That’s a feature in some other software out there. Technically you can probably accomplish that by copying the path and changing the focus on which ever one is second but the suggested feature would make it much easier.
@@videoscrapheap thank you for the advice! I didn't even know that was a feature but it makes some based on the depth it's cutting. I'm confident this cut cut the 2x4 in two to three passes
Idk the guy doing the flip, just a cool dude enjoying the water
An old toothbrush works great to get rid of the paint and any stray glass.
@@drdisko that's actually a really good idea lol. Didn't even think about that
@@everygooddaydesigns I have developed and taught several laser courses including rotary for 150W CO2 machines and just ordered an SI with a 40W, IR module and rotary for my partner. Really like the safety features on the S1 and am impressed with the S1 videos.
@@drdisko yeah, its been a really awesome machine so far. The software is pretty easy to learn as well. I recommend skipping the conveyor feeder unless you are doing thinner material and only plan to engrave. I also can't recommend their IR laser, the first laser I got almost immediatly gave warnings for over heating. They replaced that laser with a new one and it did the same thing. I began to troubleshoot random things like check the air assist and see if it was causing the issue and other things. I think its a software issue but I have not been able to confirm that yet. Sorry about that lengthy post, I like the S1 alot, just wish they put more thought into some of the add-ons. (Tumbler rotary is pretty good)
comment if you have any questions or future ideas you would like to see.
Just got my S1 and my head is making it more difficult than it is. Nice video! Thank you for this!
@@SeleneR4mirezz it gets easier just find some cheap stuff to engrave and cut initially. The software is decent one you figure it out
So do not buy, because you didn't read the item specs....got it
@@Eyez313 yeah sure or because it doesnt have really any real value. If you only plan on engraving half inch boards good for you. If my advice doesnt resonate then get it. Thanks for the input

@@Eyez313 okay lolol, its your money. Best of luck brother
If you add tabs the stuff won’t drop through.
Also I agree definitely can’t put thicker wood. Would have been great if we could.
The video is really informative but the music is REALLY LOUD, distracting and painful to listen to. Sorry😢
Haha, i think in my more recent videos I figured the volume out lol
@@everygooddaydesignsas an editor i liked the choice of music...just dip it under speech..enjoyed the video as a S1 owner.
@@ProfSimonHolland I appreciate it, wish I could go back in and adjust the music
Hi! nice video! If the screen is removed from the frame, can it be placed back on a new frame without any problems? like 8 lets gooo oo!
I appreciate it and Yeah, if you have another frame you can move it between them. I take it out almost everytime just to clean the paint off after.

Ohhhhh, i think this is my first time seeing ones like this. It was surprising lolol

So? outcome with Xtool support? I have the D1Pro 2w IR module and have yet to get anything remotely acceptable off it regarding anodized aluminum. While they have replaced the module once and sent me a focus gage, the results using their default xcs settings and experimenting leaves the same awful results… While my D1 has proven excellent regarding 455nm 20w , the 2W IR is simply problematic at best!
Same, they sent me a replacement but the replacement did not fix the problem, this makes me think that either the hardware itself is terribly built or there is an issue with the software. I like the idea of being able to engrave metal but if the engraver can only run 2 seconds at a time then whats the point. I believe the IR laser is not of much value at this point. However, it could be a problem with my specific setup because I cant seem to find anyone else with this same issue. Very strange.
Xtool support did good though, the process took a while to get through
Any advice for someone about to do this next week
Enjoy it and dont panic. It was a really fun training, I would do it again if I could
What would have happened if you put the black paint inside the glass instead of outside? Would it have made a difference?
I havent tried that but I'm curious if it wpuld melt on the inside since the laser passes through glass and stops at the paint
@@everygooddaydesigns Are you happy with the S1? Been looking into getting into lasers but dang hard trying to find a RUclipsr that wasn’t given a machine for free or sponsored… I saw your other video with the IR laser having a problem, did XTool fit it for you?
@@TheExtremeElementz so I like the S1 alot and the software that comes with it is straight forward. I reccommend it if you are looking for something to do work with. (Get the 40W if you plane on cutting). I wish it had a little more space inside the machine for engraving though. As far as the IR laser, they sent me a new one, it does the same thing though. Idk what the issue is with it but I think its something to do with software. The laser almost always say its overheating after using it for just a few seconds. If that is the way its buikt then they should rethink the IR laser
With Your Backyard… You Should Have Started With The WeedEater.
It was just a test run to see how this thing works, I do have the weed eater though lolol
I saw a video where a guy used a sharpie instead of paint, but I’m waiting for my engraver to arrive so what do I know lol
I havent tried the sharpie but it could work, I do know the paint works though lolol. Maybe I'll test the sharpie thing, it might be quicker than watching paint dry lol
Also, what laser did you go with?
Thanks for including your settings. Great job explaining things.

i understand the 40w laser module should be cleaned after every 30 minutes of use, or probably an 1-2 hours with air assist on high, and i would definitely take the noticeable chunks and tray debris out often.... how often should the S1 be cleaned and lubricated like this?
The chunks and debris get removed pretty much everytime, however, I do not wipe the sticky residue from the wood on the tray too often. The honey comb makes this less of a concern. As far as how often it should be cleaned and lubricated, I don't have the official answer. I've been doing it roughly every month or two depnding on how often I use it. Basically if the laser head is super dirty or there is a lot of build up on the walls I take that as an indicator to lube the bars
I was wondering if WD-40 would be any good or better 🤔
I wouldnt recommend it because the peng sheng is more of a grease for the movement over it. However if the wheels and pulleys started locking up WD-40 would make sense to me.
@@everygooddaydesigns What would you recommend if we don't have the Peng Sheng grease?
@@mojo2613 I'm not gonna lie, I'm not sure. However, I dont see why any grease from a car parts store would not work. The purpose is lubrication, I imagine a grease with similar properties would be fine.
@@everygooddaydesigns Yeah, I did some research on it.. I think you're right. Or I see some other silicone based grease on Amazon sold in small tubes.
@@mojo2613 yeah, not a lot about peng sheng on the internet really.

Baby wipes work wonders too.
@@fudgious that's one I probably need too use lol. Easier than paper towels
the LA's totally awesome cleaner works wonders on that sticky stuff thats always on the tray its a great degreaser
I havent reallt done a full clean on that because everytime I clean this I go straight back into cutting wood which is gonna make it sticky again. I appreciate the tip though incase I do ever try to clean it fully
Great information, but the loud repeat music is very distracting.
Thank you, I've been changing the volume on future videos. Apologize for that. Hopefully all future videos will have a mpre subtle music
Would you mind posting a step by step tutorial on how to process something using the conveyor belt? For the life of me, I can’t get the measurements right as far as how far to put my material into the machine, how much extra material to have for a project, and the framing 😵💫

I'm supposed to be making some shirts for someone in the coming weeks, I'll try to make a video of the process if I can.
Hi. How often are you supposed to clean? And did that time change depending on the material you are engraving? Thank you!
I dont actually know if there is a set time frame for cleaning that xtool recommends However, I do a lot of wood cutting and it produces alot more debris and smoke so I clean about every 3 or 4 weeks. If I was just engraving I would probably do it about every 2 months. The best indicator for me is the top of the laser where the fans are. If it looks like a lot of build up is there I give it a good clean.
Yeah hi I’ve got a question, I’ve got the S1 20w and I was cleaning the lens with alcohol and a cotton swab, unscrewing the copper lens there’s another lens underneath that which l noticed was loose my question is,is that lens supposed to be tightened or set at level height ….any idea would be appreciated.
So I am attaching the link for the xtool video for cleaning the laser heads. I figure watching it would be easier. But if you still have questions afterward I can attempt to answer them
